European Commission launches start-up support initiative

Campaign launched to nurture European technology innovation
The European Commission has launched a campaign to help the next generation set up businesses in the region.
The 22-point Start-up Europe manifesto is split up into five themes; education and skills, access to talent, access to capital, data policy and privacy, and thought leadership.
The proposals call for a pan-European start-up visa, an easier pathway for high-growth companies to go public as well as tax cuts for investors. It also wants to encourage university students to start businesses before they graduate.
The manifesto is supported by the Start-up Leaders Club, an organisation founded to help create and steer policies surrounding the internet economy and entrepreneurship in Europe. The Leaders Club worked alongside the Founders Forum in London to devise the plan.
